History of South Creek School
South Creek School is located on Darug land in the suburb of Riverstone, NSW. South Creek School is named after the indigenous people of the Riverstone District who were known as the South Creek tribe. The Darug word for South Creek is ‘Wianamatta’ meaning ‘Mother Place’. The land on which South Creek School was established was previously part of Riverstone High School. It was then used for The Ponds School whilst their purpose-built facility was being established. After The Ponds School moved out the site was used as a training facility for the Department of Education and Training and then briefly as an annex of Riverstone Public School. South Creek School was officially established on the 28th January 2020.
